"Food" For Thought

Well, I hope everybody in blogland had a safe and happy 4th.

As everybody is aware, I am currently unemployed. I have been asking myself why. I am thinking that maybe the reason is that I have FINALLY realized that I fucked up big time when it came to a career choice and I do NOT want to go back into corprate America for another round of panic attacks and heavy duty stress. I know that a career change is imminate, but I do not know how to begin. I do not know if it is even possible. Maybe I am just too old to make a change now. I just don't know!!! I am deeply perplexed.

When I was in college, I did very well in researching and writing papers. So something tells me that I should have pursued a career as a writer.

THE HEART TOOK OVER THE BRAIN!!!
Another thing I have been pondering is pursuing my poetry. I do not know how to get that ball rolling either. It may lead to something I really enjoy; music.
She sits on her bed with her head in the clouds as she says to herself what now!!!
I sit and ponder all of these questions as I lay in my bed getting fat on CC Cookie dough ice cream and watching sit-com reruns on TV until the wee hours of the morning.
I don't mean to depress anyone really, I guess I just have too much time on my hands. I think I am throwing a "mini" pity party which I hope will end soon.

It is NEVER too late to start anew! I had too much time on my hands a couple of years ago, and went to school for massage therapy and loved it! It was not terribly expensive and I loved the learning experience. You will find your way. It's just a matter of soul-searching and then moving forward toward that goal. Don't let the cookie dough and re runs take you over! xo

I agree with Jlee on this one, its never too late for anything. Have you ever heard the story about the 80 year old woman who went back to college to get her degree? Well she did it, not because she had too, but because she wanted too. It was something she wanted to acomplish before she passed away. She ended up passing away right after graduation. But her dream that she made come true inspired many of her peers. So dont ever think its to late for anything life has to offer. Go for whatever you want too do sweetie. Make your dreams come true. I wish you all the best sweetheart & I have all the faith in you. Take care & please keep us all posted. Love, MM XOXOXXOXOXOXO

I'm sure you could find information online about how to start getting your poetry published. And I agree, it's never to late to start a new career.

Hope things start looking brighter soon.
Take care,
Sid

I brought pop corn for the party!!!!!

I agree with my two other dear girls here! You can always do something later in life. There seriously are NO rules so explore what truly makes you happy and go for it!

I ended up HAVING to make a career change when I had my near fatal back injury that made me give up the Ballet world on stage for good. But you know a lot of other doors opened up. I went to school and decided I liked a few things. One of them I have a degree in is Interior Design and I LOVE IT! Not a huge market here but I do have a lot of internet stores and it was pretty well until I too decided not to work. I however am now a Mom and that is one of my other goals. To spend time with my children helping them live and lead fun filled lives and be the best they can be. I just decided I want to go back to college in a few years and persue a Doctorate. I am not sure what in. Maybe even become a medical Dr. which has been a goal of mine for a long time. I have the time and funds for it, just not the drive yet. I believe you have to be passionate about something to make it work fully for you. So perhaps I will be the next 80 year old to become a surgeon or something but hey...at least I will do it to enjoy it and not because I have to or am pressured into it.

Remember there are thousands of grants out there to fund what you want!!! If one says no them a million more may say yes.

My second favorite quote is: Never Never Never Give Up..Winston Churchill.

I really love your blog. You know - you are NEVER too old to follow your dreams. If you love writing I'm sure you can find a way of doing something with it.

I totally understand your feelings about not wanting to go back to the stress that comes with a normal corporate job! It makes trying to find another job seem - not worth it!!

It's so much better to do what brings you joy. I wish you lots of luck with your persuits. I'll be visitng your blog again!

Hope you don't mind, but I'm adding you to my links.

Hey everybody, thanks for the kind words of support. It is one of my dreams to have my poetry published and actually making money doing it.

I recently recieved a catalog from UNLV and they are offering a 3 hour seminar on how to change careers. The synopsis says it can and has been done. I do not know If I can afford it now. I will have to put up the 9 to 5 rat race so I can pursue my real passion.

Molly-I would love to meet you!! When you come to town call me on my cell and we can arrange to meet at in/out burger. Is Astro Burger really better though?
My cell number is 702-677-0825. Hope to hear from you.

Please take care everybody!!!

Gottcha in my cell! We are planning on staying the night in Vegas so even if we meet up super late at night for drinks/coffee/food that would be fun! I think I will be hitting there about Wednesday-ish. Maybe even Tuesday. This really is a quick trip to pick up my new car, but my husband and I LOVE Vegas so off we go. I will call you when I get to our hotel!

Oh and....In and Out burger is not THE best burger in the country, but I like the BETTER than Astro and we don't have then in Utah! So it is kinda a treat. Besides, I can't really have burgers on my diet, but this time around I am going to treat myself (and you) LOLOLOL.

XX-see you soon!
